My holiday season was a bit of an odd one this year, first my boyfriends familie's house caught on fire a few days before Christmas so that put a bit of a wrench in the works for them and our holiday plans this year because the whole family had to leave for grandmothers in Medford. But he comes home tomorrow! I'm excited cause now we get to celebrate Christmas, New Years and our three year anniversary all at once before we both start school up again.
Christmas was nice and relaxed with all my family until two days later on the 27th my beloved dog, Brie died very suddenly in my front hall. Fine one day and horribly sick the next she died before we could get her to the vet. She was very old for her breed and as I always joked 'well passed her expiration date' but as we had just been for a vet check up and been told she was in excellent health with a strong heart and lungs it still came as quite a shock. She was the perfect lazy dog, a 110 pound giant pillow of love and affection who will be so greatly missed not only by family but by our wider community who adored her.
I take comfort in the fact that she went on her own terms at her own time with us all surrounding her in our home.
I hope your holidays were relaxed and fun like most of mine was and have a wonderful new year!
