I love swimsuits! I'm always excited for summer when all the swimsuits are out in the stores but I'm always so annoyed at how expensive all the cute ones are! 20+ dollars for each half on a two piece swimsuit adds up fast when you want new ones each summer like me. Especially if like me you really dont swim much at all so they're really just for sunbathing in, for me!
Basically this train of thought got me to the conclusion of why dont I just make my own this summer. Wouldn't that be cheaper? Yes! In fact it is much cheaper! It has been my experience that almost all specialty things are cheaper to make then to buy, outdoor wear, fancy dresses and the like! I made these two cute swimsuits and have enough material left over from each to make another style top for each for less the 25 dollars in materials! Granted I shopped a 20% off sale on swim fabrics and lining at my local fabric store but still a much better deal! I highly recommend trying it out yourself! It's fairly easy to make a cute and simple one with a pretty basic amount of sewing knowledge like the purpely-blue one I made or if you're more ambitious make a more structured one like my black and white one! Though I'd definitely say the simpler one is way easier to make with swim material being as slippery-slimy as it is ;) I'd use a pair of bottoms you already have and like the fit of as a template for your bottoms and then just figure out what kind of top you want and start from there!
